Instant Editing Support in Metus INGEST for GV Edius Users

In a news, sports or production environment, speed is everything. Edit operators need to start editing material immediately as it starts, and usually have their cuts ready by the time the event finishes.

Formerly available only via top end dedicated capture servers, Metus INGEST now offers this as a standard feature for Edius users. MPG (with MPEG2 compression) and MXF Op1a wrapped files (XDCAM IMX, XDCAM HD, XDCAM MPEG2 etc) have an option to be “edited while recording”.

When this option is checked, these files can be opened and edited inside Edius, while the capture is still going on. Metus INGEST supports edit while INGEST workflows, for Edius 7 and 8. The Edius software needs at minimum to be a Pro version.
